Thank you for the suggestion. I briefly visited Staten Island last week for the first time since 1945. I believe I found the remainder of the St. George Gardens Apartments between Hamilton and St. Marks in the New Brighton area. The building's gate attendant agreed that the complex was formerly called the St. George Gardens. The brick buildings are now painted white.
