OOOPS I think we have the wrong husband for Katherine McDermott b. ca 1902. da of Michael and Anne Stapleton McDermott.. I had that their da Catherine had md Eugene Daly But...
I found a Eugene Daly and wife Kate with da Dine in the 1930 Richmond Co., NY census... next door is a John J McDermott and wife Dine..with several other children.. I then went to the 1920 census and found John and Dine with a daughter of the right age for Katherine..
Which makes me pretty sure that the Katherine who md Eugene Daly was the da of John and Dine McDermott not Michael and Anne.
I am not sure how this John McDermott is related to Michael if at all. But I followed John back through the 1910 & 1900 census.. According to the census they were md ca 1894... all children b. NY..
Had to jump back to 1880 Middletown, Richmond Co, NY census were I found a Bridget McDermott (widow) with a family including a son John age 13 b.NY
Can't seem to find them further back...but did find on the 1886 Webbs Consolidated Directory of North and South Shores Staten Island.. a Bridget McDermott, widow, James, h 3 Clark,S. with Katie, Thomas, and William all at same address.( these were listed as her children on the census also)
So I think that James and Bridget McDermott were the parents of this John who md Dine-- and had the daughter Kate/Katherine who md this Eugene Daly..
Does anyone have info on these families?
