I am researching the Bartow/Brandt families of Tappan NY
region. Morris Bartow and his wife Catalina/Caterina
Van Gelder named their daughter (who married John Brandt JR)
Margaret Westervelt Bartow. Why was she named after
this family? What connections do the Westervelts and
Van Gelders (or Bartows) have?
