I believe that Rockland County was created in 1798. My 4th Greatgrandmother, Eleanor(Elinor) Huff Gibbs state in the 1855 New York State Census that she was born in Rockland Co., however she was born on Feb. 01, 1786, before it's creation. Can any one tell me what part of Counties made up Rockland. I'm would like to sort out where is my have been born. Thanks, Barb
