There is a Lamberth Smith who witnessed the will of Daniel Mackenzie dated October 4, 1798 in Rockland County, NY. Here is the abstract: "DANIEL MACKENZIE, late of the County of Ross in the North of Scotland and dominion of the Kingdom of Great Britain, but now resident of a place called the Hook, near the Hook Mountain in the Town of Clarkstown, in the County of Rockland Dated October 4, 1798. Probated October 29, 1798 Mentions: Peter Law, now of Orange Town, Tapper and Currier Capt. Aurie Smith and his son Andries Smith, with whom I now reside Executors: Peter Law, Capt. Aurie Smith, Andries Smith Witnesses: LAMBERTH SMITH, George Smith, John Smith. It is unclear what, if any, relation Lamberth had to Capt Aurie Smith. Capt Aurie's will (written in 1812 and recorded in 1819 and online at http://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/ny/rockland/wills/vb/smith-aurie.txt) identifies only son Andries and three daughters. I hope this helps. Notify Administrator about this message?
