Hi to all,

The Allison/Ellison DNA Project now has over 100 participants. A group of fifteen of those men trace their Allison roots back to Orange and Rockland Counties in NY in the 1700s and 1800s. Some trace their ancestry back to John Ellison/Allison who settled in Haverstraw about 1720 and others, including my brother, trace their ancestry back to Joseph Allison who settled in Goshen about 1725. DNA test results show that John and Joseph were related. We are seeking other male descendants of both John Allison and Joseph Allison who HAVE the ALLISON surname to join the Allison/Ellison DNA Project.

DNA testing Holiday Gift Certificates from Family Tree DNA (FTDNA) are available for new participants in the Allison/Ellison DNA Project until Dec. 31, 2007. If you are thinking about joining the Allison/Ellison DNA Project or if you have an Ellison or Allison relative that you want to encourage to order a DNA test, now is an ideal time to do so.

There is still available one gift certificate worth $30 which may be applied to a new 37 or 67 marker Y-chromosome DNA test. There are two gifts worth $15 each which may be applied to new 25 marker Y-chromosome DNA tests. An Allison or Ellison male would order a Y-chromsome DNA test to learn about his paternal ancestry. There are two gifts worth $15 each which may be applied to new maternal DNA mtDNA) tests. A male or a female can order a mtDNA test to learn abouthis or her maternal ancestry.

These gifts are for new tests only, not upgrades. Should you or an Allison or Ellison relative of yours who HAS the ALLISON or ELLISON surname wish to take advantage of one of these gifts, please contact me privately BEFORE ordering a kit. I will make arrangements with FTDNA for the gift to be applied to your invoice. To take advantage of
the discount, a participant must select to be invoiced for the test but the individual can pay for the amount on the invoice by a number of methods including writing a check, by credit/debit card and paypal.

Happy Holidays,

Mary Allison Yonan
