Researching the William Gifford line in the Saratoga County vicinty. William married (1) Mary Petty (Perry?) and (2) Huldah Perry in Dartmough , MA. Children of both lines are unproven althought I believe sons of Willam and Mary Petty may be Perry Gifford (ca1776-ca1847) and William Gifford born ca 1774. Both migrated to Haldimand County, Ontario.
Perry Gifford is listed in the 1800 federal census records in Stillwater and William Gifford in the 1820 and 1830 census records in Providence. Second wife Huldah is included in the 1850 census.
The 1878 History of Saratoga County by Sylvester lists a William Gifford in the county in 1784 living on public road No. 5, page 269. Research is needed to check Saratoga County Quaker records and any deeds and probate records.
