I am searching for information about my g-g-g-grandfather Henry Harvey b. 11 Mar 1825 to Asa Maxson Harvey and Elizabeth Lamb of Petersburg. Henry was a railroad man and worked for the railroad in Manhattan and then returned to Schenectady about 1860. His father Asa and his brother Hulbert were also railroad men. The 185-,1860, & 1870 census' show him as an Engineer or Locomotive Engineer. Henry died 8 Nov 1870 in Schenectady. I would like to learn more about him and to find his grandfather who I believe was Thomas S. Harvey of Petersburg. If anyone knows where I might find Railroad records for these early years, I would be most appreciative. I believe Jane's father was Malachia Van Alstyne and her mother Hannah Dye.
