Catherine Ashdown was married to Granville Dwight Porter prior to Nov 9, 1949. While Granville was away (military) she divorced him, gave birth to me (Dec 4 1948). On Nov 9, 1949, my custody was transferred from Child Welfare to Granville D. Porter (my father)with allowances for Catherine Ashdown to have visitation.
My father passed 2 years ago, without ever divulging the circumstances of my birth or anything pertaining to my biological mother.
I am appreciative of any information anyone has pertaining to the whereabouts of my mother, Catherine Ashdown. I presume Ashdown is her maiden name. On Nov 9, 1949, she resided at Ballston Lake, NY, Granville Porter resided in North Troy NY.
