Normanskil refers to a location in Albany County, the word "kil" means creek. I read somewhere that the creek was named the Normanskill because the Bradt family settled there. The first Bradts were brothers; Arent Andriesz de Noorman [Bradt] & Albert Andriesz de Noorman /Van Fredrikstad from Norway __ thus Norman or "North Man" The following is some Springer info from the Schenectady site; "Springer DAVID, and Margaret Oliver. BENJAMIN, and Hendrikje Olivier. Ch. bp: Maria, May 18, 1770, m. Samuel Bratt; Dannis, Jan. 11, 1775; Oliver, b. Feb. 22, 1778, d. Sept. 15, 1831. VINCENT, and Sarah Howe, both of Noormanskil, m. Dec. 4, 1787. Ch. b: Sarah, June 20, 1791; David, March 11, 1798. DANIEL, m. Margaret Vrooman, Oct. (?) 18, 1798. Braat /Bradt, SAMUEL, son of Arent Samuelse and Maria Van Slyck, m. Polly, (Maria) dau. of Benjamin Springer, of Normanskil, June 14, 1789. Ch. b: Arent, Sept. 24, 1789; Benjamin, Oct. 8, 1792; Maria, Dec. 24, 1794, d.
