Hello All, I have a photographic portrait of a man in a Civil War uniform who is reputed to be James Castleton Hope who was born in Scotland, emigrated to the US, and served in Vermont's 2nd Infantry, B. He moved his family to Watkins Glen after the war, painted the beautiful scenery, and died there in 1892. Please let me know if you have any information about him and/or about where I might search for pictures or articles about or his paintings. Some of Hope's Civil War paintings are displayed at Antietam National Park and are on their website. Thank you so much! Sandy Notify Administrator about this message?
