Looking for any information on Capt. John Davis of Reading, Schuyler, NY, b.1711

Captain John Davis is the brick wall in my namesake line of descendants.

Family records show he was born around 1711 or 1721, possibly in England. He lived and died in Reading Center, Schuyler, NY. He died about 15 July 1815 or 1816.

His only child that I have record of is Alpheus Davis (born 1747, MA?, and died 20 Aug 1818 in Reading, Schuyler, NY). Alpheus was married to Thankful Johnson (1756-1836), and they had several children, notably Greeley Davis.

Capt John Davis, and his son Alpheus are noted in several books as being early settlers of Reading, and both are also noted as being involved and serving in the Revolutionary war.

If anyone can provide more information on where Capt John Davis came from, or his family or other children; I'd be really grateful.
