Keenan, One of the McGough's is listed in a family history of the Carrolls, in Ovid, Seneca Co.NY. as Aunt Annie McGough around 1905 on, I am not clear if she is a Carroll daughter married into the McGough's, or someone from the Carroll's maternal side.
Thomas and Mary (I think Gilroy) Carroll farmed in Ovid after 1880 through 1910 at least. Thomas was b 1850 in Ireland, and Mary 1853 NY, of Irish parents. They had 9 children. Mary had a sister named Margaret.
My Donohues are from Florence, NY and Anneville.
Anyway, this is a slight connection. There is another researcher who has found another brother on the Carroll side, Michael(1817) and Mary Kelly Carroll, both b. Ireland, in Ovid, who well be Thomas's brother. They also had a Margaret as well. The Carrolls and Kellys emigrated 1841from County Louth, IR.
Best regards,
Mary Corcoran
