Janice,
Check with the Ovid town clerk to see if the town kept death records for patients at Willard during the 1880`s &`90`s. I know that other towns in NY state with large institutions do record the deaths that occur in those facilities. Not sure about that far back, though. There may be a fee to do a search since you don`t know the date of death.
