I am trying to find out about my great grandmother's family. We think she was married before she wed my great grandfather, Levi Ketcham Sharp of Reading, NY in 1832. At that time she was called Ruth Ann Shay, but this seems to be a dead end. I want to check all the births in Seneca County on the date of her birth to see if we can find her and possibly an earlier name. Does anyone know where such records might be available?

I have also not been able to locate a marriage certificate or other information that could lead me to a maiden name (other than Shay). Their first few children were born in New York so it should be possible to find them from 1832 to 1837 but not much success. I have never seen Shay spelled Shea in reference to Ruth Ann.
