Recently I came across this obituary: Mrs. Ella J. Van Keuren died at her home at Van Keuren's Corners, in the town of Bethel, Saturday, Nov. 30th, 1901, aged 33 years, 5 months and 20 days. The cause of death was Addison's bronze, an acute disease of the kidneys. Deceased was a daughter of James and Mary Margison, and was born at the Margison homestead at Mongaup Valley, where her girlhood days were passed. She was married to Franklin P. Van Keuren Feb. 20th, 1889. She had been in poor health for some years, but was up and about her household duties until about two weeks before her death. She had been a consistent member of the Methodist church since her girlhood days, first at her native place and more recently at White Lake. Although the sufferings which terminated her life were intense she was sustained even to the end by a firm and unshaken trust in God. Her husband survives her; also a daughter, Lela M., aged nine years; her aged parents, residing at Mongaup Valley, and three brothers and four sister, residing as follows: George M., at Mongaup Valley; William and Cyrus, at home; Sarah, wife of Richard HALL, at the toll-gate west of Monticello; Fannie E., at Sugar Loaf, N.Y.; Martha and Alice, at home. Funeral services were held at her late residence Tuesday afternoon. Interment in the family cemetery near the homestead. Would anyone know where this homestead and/or cemetery is located, or have information on anyone mentioned? James Margison was the brother of my GGreat Grandfather John Margison. Any info appreciated Ken Margison Notify Administrator about this message?
