I now have reason to believe Lydia Duelle should be Lydia Dwelle. acc. to family tradition she had a son named Jefferson (who was a clothing merchant)and a grandson named Clinton.

I have found both of them (Jefferson and Clinton)listed in 'Historical Gazetteer, 1785 - 1888 and directory 1887 - 1888 of Tioga Co., NY'.

there is a listing for a clothing store in Owego named 'Dwelle and Link'. also a listing for Clinton Dwelle, clerk, at same address. and a listing for Jefferson C. Dwelle (of Dwelle and Link).
