Hester Sluyter b: 24 JUL 1791 Isaiah Sluyter, Justice of the Peace, Tioga Co., N.Y. 1799 is brother of Walter Sluyter: ISAIAH SLUYTER’S DOCKET BOOK: This docket book dated 1799 Tioga Co., New York measures 16”x7” and is in the possession of descending relative, Janice Elaine (Sluyter) Short born 1929. In this docket book are listed apparent names of the family: Isaiah Sluyter Justice of the Peace, Polly Sluyter, Samuel Sluyter, Walter Sluyter, Nancy Sluyter, Isaac Sluyter, Henry Sluyter & Phebe Sluyter, H. Sluyter. Other than business, in the back of this book, contains blue prints of Henry Sluyter’s elaborate home, costing $518.48 to build. It also contains this writing: “Polly Sluyter” is mi name, English is mi nation, Chenango is mi dwelling, (?) Christ is mi salvation. The following prayer is recorded next to Polly Sluyter: Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep. If I should die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take. NOTE: Chenango is a County in N.Y. by Tioga Co., N.Y. All people are found in Michigan in mid 1800’s except Isaiah (Justice of the Peace), H. Sluyter (who signed under Isaiah’s name many times in his docket book - Bank was by his name on one signature), and Polly Sluyter who lived in Chenango, N.Y. 2. WALTER SLUYTER: died Michigan. In the History of Genesee County, Fenton township, Walter is listed as a "prominent citizen who came to the township before 1840". Michigan Land records shows 80 acres purchased by Walter on Aug. 2, 1837 under the treaty of 1820. Walter’s migration: N.Y.>PA.>MI. Marr: Nancy in N.Y.
