Lisa,
I tried searching NY, PA, NJ and OH for 1880 but couldn't find them either.
You may want to try http://www.ohgen.net/
There you choose the state and then the county. By county it is broken down to B,M,D records. This allows you to search first names only if you want, surname only, or both.
