Thank you for your response. I enjoyed reading about the history of the Waverly/Factoryville settlement. After 30 years of research, I know about the "success" of settlements that a railroad passes through. Members of the Flower(s) family followed the Susquehannah River north from Luzerne County, PA. The senior Zephon Flower spent his later life in Athens, Bradford County, PA. But at least one of his children raised her family at "Factoryville" (which researchers are identifying as the "Factoryville" in eastern New York - near Vermont, and the one in Wyoming County, PA - also off the beaten path.) The senior Zephon Flower was a surveyor for the Susquehannah Company, so he did a lot of traveling - surveying county and state lines, roads, etc. "In April 1795 he surveyed the old town of Flowersburg, and in 1798, the townships of Litchfield, and Windsor - now Sheshequin". Because their surname has been seen spelled as "Flowers", I am curious as to where "Flowersburg" was located. Do you have any idea? Thanks again for the history lesson.
