Looking for the parents of Temperance McDowell thought to be born May 13, 1804 probably Tioga County, New York m. Squire Griswold thought to be born August 17, 1798 Fort Ann, Washington County, New York - m before 1822. They had 8 children. Temperance died September 11, 1841 Dix, Schuyler County, New York. Squire then m. Frances 'Fanny' M. - they had 4 children.

It is thought that Polly McDowell may be sister to Temperance. Polly thought to be born on 26 Feb 1803 in near Elmira, Chemung Co., New York.
