Found these Obituaries at www.fultonhistory.com . The Poughkeepsie Eagle-News, Thursday Morning April 4 1929 Veteran of Civil War Dies At 83 James E. Chase, 83, Civil War Veteran, died last night at the home of his Cousin, Mrs. Viola Avery, 22 Pershing Avenue after a long illness. Funeral services will be held at the home on Friday Afternoon at 2 O'clock. Mr. Chase is servived by five Cousins, Louis A. Robinson, Otis Robinson, Roswell Robinson, and Viola Avery all of this city and Anne Elliot of Kingston. Funeral arrangments which will be in charge of John A. Eighmie have not been completely arranged. The Poughkeepsie Eagle-News Saturday April 6 1929 James E. Chase Buried Funeral services for James E. Chase, 83, Civil War Veteran, who died Wednesday afternoon, were held yesterday afternoon at 1 O'clock at the home of his cousin, Mrs. Viola Avery, 22 Pershing Avenue. The Rev. Charle Fox, Pastor of the Community Congregational Church officiated. Bearers were Cousins of Mr. Chase. Burial was in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery in the charge of John F. Eighmie. James was the son of Robert & Charity Carrigan Chase. Charity's Sister Anna Carrigan Robinson was my maternal ggg-Grandmother. Anna and her husband Roswell Robinson were the grandparents of the five Cousins(siblings) listed in James obit. James lived in Ulster county from the 1860 through the 1905 census, can't find in 1910, in Poughkeepsie 1920 census living with his cousins widow Maria Robinson & her son Otis.
