Mary,

Have you tried to get a copy of Gabriel Ferguson`s death certificate? It might show his parents names. The town clerk in Warwarsing should have the record. I believe Leurenkill is a part of the village of Ellenville which is in the town of Warwarsing. The clerk`s address is Town Hall: 108 Canal St., Ellenville, 12428; 647-6570, ext. 230.

The Fergusons are on the 1860 & 1870 census Warwarsing. In 1860 the surname is spelled Furguson on the index & in 1870 it`s Furgerson. I can`t find them in 1880. If you don`t have access to the census, let me know & I`ll transcribe them for you.
