From my Tripp notes: Stephen Tripp was b. 5 March 1788, son of Peleg and Mary (Sammis) Tripp; his father was a Revolutionary soldier; Stephen d. Castle Rock MN; m. ?Betsey Gould; he was listed on 1812 tax list of Thurman; listed at Warrensburg in 1820c; Stephen and Betsey Tripp of Warrensburg conveyed to Heman Lake of same 119 acres in Lot 87, Hyde Township, lying west of Peleg Tripp in 1826, recorded in 1834 (G/413); she may be the Betsey Tripp listed at Warrensburg in 1830 (121/220001, five from William; he res. Northeast, Dutchess Co., in 1838; listed at Collins, Erie Co., in 1840, near brother Noah; Wisconsin by 1843; with son George in Dakota Co. MN in 1857, 1860; known sons George (b. 1818), Daniel (b. 2 Aug. 1819) and Oliver (b. 8 Sept. 1825); according to testimony of Jesse Tripp over Peleg’s estate, Stephen Tripp was intemperate and Peleg brought up two of his children, prob. Ruth and Noah, who res. with Peleg in 1838; per Ruth Rohrwasser, they had additional children Mary and Clarissa. Ruth is prob. the Ruth M. Tripp b. Warrensburg 14 May 1820 and d. at her home in Omro WI 9 July 1899; per obit. in WN of 27 July 1899, Ruth moved to Wisconsin and m. there 1 Jan. 1841 Myron Howe, who d. a few years before his wife; he had settled on the Wisconsin farm in 1846; they had two children, including Miss Mary L. Howe, who survived her mother.
