Georgia, Many thanks for your response. I had some of what you sent, but not the deed abstract for William DAYLY. I believe that PARSON DAILEY of the 1790 Census to be PARDON DAILEY and that those other DAILEYs were related in some way to him....probably his sons. Samuel DAILEY of that census was my husband's ancestor. Samuel was b. ca. 1755-65 and died in Queensbury, Wash/now Warren Co., NY in 1806. I have his probate records. Our Samuel DAILEY was a different man from the one buried in the Wood Creek Cemetery which we visited in the 1980's. That Samuel DAILEY moved to NY from southern Berkshire Co., MA after 1800. I believe that our Pardon DAILEY was in Rhode Island until the late 1760's or 1770's and than in Northwestern MA. I've searched the records of Worcester Co., MA, but could find no record of him there although that is where the Pardon DAILY who marched from there to North Hoosick (Walloomsyck), NY to fight in the Battle of Bennington evidently lived. My interest in that Parson/Pardon DAILEY of the 1790 Wash. Co., NY census comes from the fact that the given name PARDON occurs in several generations in our Samuel (whom I believe to be that Pardon's son) line...but am having a difficult time PROVING. Evidently Parson/Pardon died without leaving any probate record. Samuel's son, Asa DAILEY (hubby's ancestor) md. Abilgail HERRICK in NY and they moved to Seneca Co., NY by 1840--- "possibly" came by the Erie Canal. Asa's daughter, Hannah, and family came to CA shortly before 1870..."possibly" on one of the first trains to come here in 1769. "Possibly" is just a guess as there's no way to prove it. I used the dates they traveled to make these "guesses" which is all that they are. It appears that you do not have this DAILEY line. Thanks so much for taking your time to try to help me. Your information has given me some new leads. THANKS AGAIN! Dolores in "far-away" California Notify Administrator about this message?
