Looking for more information on this couple: FRANCIS BARRE b abt 1700 New York City (New Amsterdam), who married AELTJE TURK. They were married April 29, 1732 in the Dutch Reformed Church. Surname in church records for Francis is variantly spelled Barre, Baree, Barry, Berry, Berree, Bare (!!!). Birth records of children that I have found so far are:
JOHANNES BARRE b April 15, 1733 New York City
ELIZABETH BARRE b Oct 5, 1735 New York City (may have died young)
ELIZABETH BARRE b Dec 2, 1739 New York City
ANNETJE BARRE b June 5, 1743 New York City
FRANCIOS BARRE b Feb 11, 1747 New York City
I am researching this individual because I suspect he may be the father of my ancestor RACHEL BARRE/ BAREE b abt 1740s NY, who married JEREMIAH MARTINE of Phillipsburg, Westchester Co NY. Rachel may have had a sister SUSANNAH BARRE/ BAREE who married William Felter in Westchester Co NY
