In a 1931 Yonkers City Directory, the following LANGHORST families are listed:
LANGHORST Fredk (Frieda) mech (NY) h149 Curtis La
LANGHORST Wm R (Edna M.) pipe ftr h11 Cromwell pl.

It is likely that these families were related, despite the streets not being near one another.

In a more current Westchester County, NY telephone directory (2003), there are no LANGHORST families listed.

Another GenForum reader has advised you of the Frederick LANGHORST family listing in the 1930 US Census. In a search for the Wm. LANGHORST family on the 1930 US Census, one finds that in addition to Wm. R and Edna there was a son William, age 5. William the younger might still be alive, but a search of Social Security records, shows a William LANGHORST, born about 1924, with a final residence in 2000 in Sussex county, Delaware.

A search of Internet phone directories shows a William LANGHORST living in Millsboro, Sussex county, DELAWARE. One could try contacting those persons listed, they may be kin to your Lt. Frederick LANGHORST. Good luck with your endeavors to locate this family. Your efforts in trying to locate family members are admirable.
