James Oakman was the son of James Oakman and Eleanor _____ who were born in Ireland and were living in Poultney VT by 1831 when the first of their 10 children was born. James jr. b. abt 1843 married Ellen Doyle (b. ME) 18 Jan 1862. Their only child was Mary Eleanor b. 4 May 1863 who was my maternal grandmother. Would like to discover where in Ireland they came from. Were they of Scottish descent and sent to live in Ireland?
