Footnote.com has muster rolls for VA 8th Regt. under Col. Abraham Bowman and in Capt. Abel Westfall's Company where non-commissioned officer Corporal Thos (Thomas)O'Banion/O'Bannion (both spellings are uses over the months)appears marked as present many times. Just a heads up for you O'Banion fans. I think my 6th great grandfather Joseph B. Fields 1755-1823 many have had the middle name Banion, which set me off on this trail to find out why. He named HIS kids John Taylor Fields 1792 and Rees Bowen Fields 1796 after men in the 1780 King's Mountain Battle.
