Hi, I too am decendeded from Wilson and Meley O'Bryant..my path is such...Wilson-Issac-Joseph Benton-Carl O'Bryant/O'Brien (my grandfather changed his last name to O'Brien) Michael- myself. Wilson is my GGG grandfather. The O'Bryants in Texas have written an Book, called "170 Years in Texas 1824-1994 Crockett/Humphreys/O'Bryant Family History" Mary Miller O'Bryant one of the writers unfortunately passed away here recently. I was getting my info from her and my aunt Ruth Delay(O'Brien) who is our branches family historian, per say. I have a lot of research on the origins of wilson and I have only theories. Where were they married, Georgia is my best bet. Meley's Grandfather William Wofford, started the Wofford settlement in Georgia. ( http://roadsidegeorgia.com/county/banks.html , http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~jayken/hollingsworth/fort/ngajrnl.htm , http://www.Irwma.com/historicaldocs/wofford/WoffordSettlement.htm , etc) from what I can see Nathaniel , Meley's father is also present in the settlement. Just recently one of the posters of this forum sent to me some geneology from the Thompson line that included a possible ancestory for Wilson, going back one more generation. The document is published as "Ancestors of Hammer Edgar Thompson" and in this document it relates that Wilson O'Bryant, son of Duncan O'Bryant was born 1801 , dec 1 in Georgia and died 1870 in Utopia Texas. Duncan is the famous missionary to the Cherokee who marries Patsy Whitehead. So I would surmise it was probably in Georgia that they met and married, although a lot of the family history does take place in Arkansas on the way to Texas.

You are decsended from Samuel W. James and Martha Ann O'Bryant, dau of Wilson and Meley....this is great news,All I have in my book is Martha's first name and the last name of her spouse. I do have an print out form the web showing some of the james family geneology for that generation , as I wanted to verify that that was indeed the Martha in my book. Maybe we can compare notes.
