The Duncan O'Bryant that becomes the missionary to the Cherokee is a likely candiate to be Wilson's father. According to his grave stone(Adair , Oklahoma) he is buried 1834 and the stone states his age about 59 years old. That would make Duncan born about 1775. Duncan would also be only 15 years old in the 1790 SC Head of Households. This fact makes me believe two things, with I will have to research more...(1) Patrick O'Bryant has a free white male under 16 living with him in the 1790 SC Head of Households. Is Duncan, Patrick's son? Also, (2) If the missionary Duncan is Wilson's father, Duncan would be 23 in 1798 when Wilson is born. Seems alright. I have a copy of "Ancestors of Hammer Edger Thompson". It states Duncan's first born is Wilson, born 1801, Georgia. the other siblings are Nancy, Fanny, Harriet, Sarah, Eliza Jane, Jacob, Hugh, Humphrey and Patsey. ......all this is fine and good, so who is the Duncan in the 1790 SC Head of Households? Are Patrick and (the older)Duncan brothers? Does Patrick name a son after (the older)Duncan? Does anyone know Patrick O'Bryants children's names? If anyone has any info, please let me know...Thanks.
