Hi Greg: A while back I found all your postings on this site, printed them and set them aside. Finally read all of them this evening. I wish I could say that I had the answers but do you think anyone ever will? I hope so. What I do have is a newspaper copy of a picture of a son of Duncan O'Bryant the minister - his name is Hugh O'Bryant he was the first major of Portland, Oregon in 1851 and I have a copy of a picture of Hiram Duncan O'Bryant who is the son of Wilson & Meley O'Bryant - they look ALOT alike. Wilson O'Bryant also named one of his sons JOHN Wesley, although I don't know that that would have much meaning. Would like to know just what info you do have on Wilson etc. so of the people who posted you seemed to have info that I do not. Also the book Mary O'Bryant and her daughter Glenda Spears put together is it 170 or 160? I got a book from her but it was 160 years of Texas is that a different one then yours? My theory is that when Wilson and/or his family arrived in this country they were O'Briens and perhaps met up with some Bryants. Don't know what your family history is but all that I know say that we are Irish and that seems consistent with all even my own side of the family. I have been told the there is no O'Bryant that is Irish because there is no O' before the name and Bryant is Scot. Never research the name just what I have been told. Anyway, would like to share info with you, perhaps between the both of us we can find new stuff. I guess I should have introduced myself in the beginning but better late then never. My name is Virginia Baade, I research and compliled a book I called "Memories", don't know if you heard about it or me but thought I should throw that in. Hope to hear from you soon, Virginia Notify Administrator about this message?
