One more question. Why is this preacher Stuart guy named Stuart.Shouldn't his name be Ochiltree.Isn't the guy everyone wants to be descended from called the "good lord" or something like that.He is in every book I pick up along with all his offspring. It should be easy just to lay out his lineage from the history books right down to our John.Or forget history and just make the statement that Our John is the 5th great grandson. What am i missing? There is something that every one else is seeing that I just do not get.
By the way, I do have a Royal line myself. My mother was a Cohen.I am currently missing a few links but am positive it goes back to King David.
When I speak of indentured servants I am talking about the ones that left the old country with this status. Many passenger lists do not name them-only number them.I was looking as some this morning on some people that arrived in Nova Scotia. It gives a name andsays with 5 indentured servants. There are about 6 people on this list travelling with unnamed servants. Nothing dishonarable about this mode of travel.
Also soldiers, especially the 'Black Watch".Many of this regiment were given the opportunity to stay in lieu of returning to Scotland with the regiment.
