My great grandfather, Patrick O'Connell, was born in Tipperary (per his obituary) and came to the US before 1864. He died on July 20, 1894 in Ellenburgh, New York at age 80.. He was survived by a widow (no name given, five daughters all were adults at the time and two sons. The two sons were: Michael L. O'Connell (born 11/10/1869 in Clinton County New York (likely Ellenburgh)and died in Plattsburgh, New York on 9/17/1942; and James O'Connell who was born in Ellenburgh in 1859 or 1860 and moved to Colorado and Nevada. According to the 1910 Census James was living in Rhyolite, Nevada at the time and was married to Nellie O'Connell who was born around 1866 and they had two sons, Joseph P. O'Connell and James O'Connell. Joseph P. Would later go on to be an Asst. US Atty. General in Washington, DC for FDR and James would become a court clerk in Denver. Does anyone have any information on the name of Patrick's wife and where she was born? the names of his 5 daughters and any of their history? exact birth dates of patrick and his family? I have numerous newspaper articles on the descendants of Michael and James (the sons of Patrick) but nothing about his daughters or wife. I'll be glad to share what I have with anyone needing it.
