O'Conner Family in Bulloch Co, GA in 1850

Looking for information on family of Daniel O'Conner, b. 1810, Ireland, d. Dec. 1849, Bulloch County, GA.

In 1850 census his family: Mary O'Conner, 32, b. in GA. Joannah O'Conner, 13. Margaret O'Conner, 10. Catherine O'Conner, 8. Patrick O'Conner, 4. Mary O'Conner, 4. Daniel O'Conner, 2. All children were born in GA.

I cannot find this family in Georgia in 1860. Could be Mary remarried. Is her son, Daniel O'Conner the Daniel O'Conner that married Harriett Bridges (Bridger) in Pulaski county, GA in 1868? I have been unable to find
Hariett and Daniel in 1870. I know there was a lot of movement out of Georgia during this period west to Arkansas and Texas; could be they went west!

Harriett Bridges was daughter of Green B. Bridgers, (1823-1862) and Susan (maiden name unknown) Bridges. Their children were Robert Westley Bridgers, b. 1847, Ann J. Bridgers, b. 1850, Harriet F. Bridgers, b. 1852, married ? Daniel O'Conner in Pulaski co, Ga. 1 Dec 1868, and Laura V. Bridgers, b. 1854.

In my research I noticed there were a lot of people born in Ireland living in Bulloch County, Ga in 1850. Does anyone know the history of why they chose that county to settle in. Most of the men are listed as farmers.

Any help appreciated.
