I am Sharon Odle Cooksey. My grandfather was Volney Augustus Odle; my father was Dorsey Augustus Odle.
My grandfatther, Volney, was born Sept. 27, 1890. He was a Sgt US Army World War I. He married my grandmother, Lillian Opal Gossett on April 18, 1920. He died on Apr. 10, 1975. My grandmother, known as Opal, died on August 20, 1980. They lived at Sugar Tree, Tennessee where both are now buried.
They had 2 sons, both now deceased.
My uncle, Troy David Odle had 3 sons, David, Ricky and Randy. All of these sons now live in Camden Tennessee. Both Ricky and Randy married and have children.
My father, Dorsey Augustus Odle, married Gloria Burnette of Lenoir City, Tennessee on January 9, 1944. They had 2 daughters, Sharon and Vicki. I married Gerald Cooksey of Memphis in 1969 and have a son, Bryan and a daughter Amy. All of us currently live in the Franklin Tennessee area. My sister, Vicki Odle Blum has 2 children, Emily and Connor. She lives in the Atlanta area.
I would love to know more about this family tree, especially regarding my grandfather's early relatives.
