Your message attracted my attention. My Great Great Uncle was named John O'Flaherty. John was born in Co. Kerry Ireland to Eugene and Katherine Fitzgerald O'Flaherty. Sibling Mary was also born in Kerry. My Great grandmother Ellen May O'Flaherty was born in Frostberg, Maryland Dec. 1849 Other O'Flaherty children born in Maryland were Dan(Danl), Briget, Nora. John fought for the South during the Civil War and Dan fought for the North. John married a woman from Mississippi. Dan helped survey the cities of Dallas and Ft. Worth after the civil war. My Grandmother Mary Virginia Allen O'Mailia was born in Ft. Worth July 11, 1878. All of the O'Flaherty family settled in Kansas City Mo. John's daughter married an attorney, Frank Walsh in Kansas City. If the John O'Flaherty picture you have is possibly the same family I would love more information. I am trying to trace the O'Flaherty's to their home in Kerry.
I also have a photo album with probable O'Flaherty's, but do not have names on the pictures.
