In response to reply from Mary reguarding a John O'Flaherty.
My Great-great uncle was named John O'Flaherty. I am trying to find out whre in Kerry he was born. His parents were Eugene and Katherine Fitzgerald O'Flaherty. Eugene and Katherine were married in Kerry about 1836. Their first two children, Mary and John were born in Kerry. The family settled in Frostberg, Maryland and had Briget, Dan, Ellen and Nora. I am a decendant of Ellen. John O'Flaherty married and lived in Vicksburg, Mississippi. John fought for the South during the Civil War. His brother Dan fought for the North during the Civil War.
Most of the family eventually settled in Kansas City Missouri.
