It does indeed look like we're talking about the same person. If so, I believe he was born in Clonmel. The names you gave were possibly my cousin (Nicola) and her father. Nicola's mother was my father's sister. Her sister managed to get in touch with the Irish relatives this spring (Alfie's family) and one of his children has apparently done some family history. My grandfather, who was married to Winnie, was Edgar Henry White. My father was 'Ted' (Edgar Michael). We're originally from Whittlesford (Cambs).
