I'm looking for information on John Wittig who lived in Ashland, probable around 1850-1900's. Have old newspaper clipping with no date. States that "John sailed from Germany 63 yr. ago yesterday at the age of 15 years". This clipping is at least early 1900's.It isn't an obituary, just an acknowledgement of his "sailing to America". Can anyone find any information on this John Wittig for me in Ashland Co.? I live in AZ, so cannot research the local Ashland library or records.
