recently I came across an old news paper dated April 9th 1945. I am in no ways related to these people but I thought researcher might like to have this.
His Name is Harry Bohl he was Wounded in action and this is what the newspaper had to say.
PFC Harry Bohl was slightly wounded in the army on March 25 in Germany. His wife Lorraine recieved the War Department telegram on Friday and a letter from him on Saturday, in which he said he was in a hospital and had been awarded the order of the Purple Heart, which he was sending home.
PFC. Bohl was inducted January 29 1943, he trained at camp Ruckner, Alabama, and Fort Knox, Kentucky, after which he went to Arizona for desert training. While there he received a 15-day furlough and in April went overseas. He has served in England, France, Holland, Belgium and Germany.
He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Bohl, 811 Cleveland Avenue. He attended Ashland High School and was employed by the country club prior to induction. His wife and son lives at 234 Orange Street.

Charles Vaughn Morehead A's is in Co. 120 C-10-L, U.S.N.T.C., at Sampson N.Y.
Sgt. Carl E. Jones 35591684, is in 3610th Ord. H.A.M. Co, at Camp Swift Texas.
Pvt. Roger Jones 35856179, is in Co. C 55th Inf. Tng.Bn. at Camp Wolter, Texas.
This final report received from the War Department received by Mrs. Evelyn Motter is that her husband Pfc. Tierney ("Mike") Motter, has been discharged from the U.S. Hospital in England and returned to active duty. His Partial address is 35920485 A.P.O. 26, c/o Postmaster, New York, N.Y.
Joseph V. Baum, S1c/RT has this address: 950-42-29, Co. 478,Bat., U.S. Navel Training Center, Great Lakes Ill.
Pvt. Paul R. Boyer's address is 35859388, Co. D 228th ITB, 3rd Platoon, Camp Blanding, Flordia.
David W. Booth, A O M 3/c, of Ashland route 3 is on a 15-day furlogh. He has been taking bombardier training at Banana River, Fla. When he reports back for duty he will go to Miami, Fla. for combat air crew training.
T/Sg. George W. Shelly arrived home from Klingman, Arizona Monday morning on a 20-day furlough to visit his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. I. Shelly of the Middle Rowsburg road. Sgt. Shelly was overseas for six months, and has since been stationed in Flordia and Arizona. He reports bact to duty at Lincoln, Nebraska.
Sgt. Burl Spence, seriously wounded in action in France on Nov. 12 with the Sixth Armored division of Patton's Third Army, is now a patient in Fletcher General Hospital, Cambridge. He was transferred from a hospital in England to a New Jersey Hospital last week and then moved to the Ohio Hospital. An employe of the Times Gazette at the time of his induction, he has been in service since March 31, 1942.
Pfc. Robert L. Witmer, who became a victim of amnesia during the Leyte campaign, is now a patient in Crile General Hospital, Parma. His parents Mr. and Mrs Ed Witmer, visited him yesterday immediately after receiving word from the War Department that he had been transferred to Cleveland. They reported him somewhat improved, although he still has no memory of past events. inducted Oct. 26 1942, he received training at Camp Atterbury and Memphis, Tenn. He went overseas last August. Prior to induction, he was a truck driver for Cliff S. Martin & Co.

IN THE SERVICE
Sgt. Tech. Paul LeRoy Dilgard is one of the service men chosen to tour the United States this ______ on a coming bond drive.
An overseas veteran L________ has been back in the states since January 22, when he arrived in California. He came home on furlough on January 28 and then reported to Miami Beach, Flordia for reassignment. He is now at Fort Benning, Georgia where he will remain until May, when the bond tour will begin.
He has been in service since October 15, 1940, when he left to train at Camp Shelby, Mississippi. After a period of training in Indiantown Gap, Pennsyvania, he went overseas in Oct, 1942 and arrived first in the Russell Islands. He was also on a number of other islands, including, New Caledonia, Guadalcanal, New Georgia and others, during is 27 months overseas.
In civilian life Sgt. Dilgard, who is the son of Mrs. Faye Oeken, 104 West Forth Street, was employed by the Carroll Oil Company. He attended Ashland Schools. His brother Doyle is a Staft Sergeant in ETO.
