I'm looking for information on George Williams, born about 1760-1761 in Pennsylvania, and his descendants. He may have been in Virginia before settling in Ohio prior to 1820. He appears in the 1820 Census of Symmes Township, Lawrence County, Ohio. Both he and his wife are in the 45 & up age category, with four younger females and five younger males in the household. He is living in the household immediately preceding Caleb McDaniel, who married Martha "Patsy" Williams on Sept. 14, 1811 in Gallia County, Ohio. Caleb and Martha were my 4th great-grandparents. Could George be Martha's father? George's wife in the 1820 Census apparently died within the next few years, as he married Christina Crease/Cress (daughter of George Cress) on Aug. 17, 1826 in Gallia County, Ohio. In the 1830 Ohio Census, George is listed in Greenfield Twp., Gallia County in the 60-70 age category, with two younger males, a female 30-40 (presumably Christina, though she should have been 40-50) and a younger female. In the 1840 Ohio Census, George is listed in Perry Twp., Gallia County in the 70-80 age category, with a female in the 50-60 age category. In the 1850 Ohio Census, George is listed again in Perry Twp., Gallia County, age 89, born in Pennsylvania, with wife Christina, age 64, born in Virginia. In the 1860 Ohio Census, George is listed in Raccoon Twp., Gallia County, age 100, born in Pennsylvania. Christina has apparently died, and he is living in the household of Henry & Eliza Ham. George obviously had several children by his marriage(s?) prior to Christina, but I've been unable to establish who any of them were. If there's anyone out there researching this particular family, please contact me.
