Your NJ Carman ancestors are not covered in the SOURCE but are aparently related.

William Henry Carman, [13Feb1831-1877] was son of Rev. James & Rosannah (Ellis)Carman, m. Cintrella Gage, Feb 1854. Wm. d. 1877. They had 3 children: Adelaide, William & Rate. Mrs. Carman and her daughters moved to Mattoon, IL.

Rosannah [1793-1857] b. Berkeley Co., VA was d/o of Abraham & Katharine (Joel) Ellis of Clinton Co., OH.
