Samuel B. Adams--born around 1800 in Leesburg, VA. Loudoun County. Married Nancy Ann Burneston, sometimes called Ann,
around 1827-28. They had around 3 children in Baltimore where they lived until moving. He was a wool finisher and
moved to follow his trade in various mills. He had a family of 8 children and his first-born son was his namesake, Samuel. This Samuel was born around 1835 in Bedford County, PA. where the family lived until the 1840's before settling in Ohio. Their last residence seemed to be
in Green Valley, Ohio where trade was quite brisk between Cincinatti and Dayton. Samuel, the father, worked until almost into his 70's, at one point in a bagging factory.
I am related to Amelia Ann Adams, their first child, who was born 4-12-1829 in Baltimore. Her husband, William Kirkpatrick, taught some of the Adams' boys the carpentry
trade. The four sons are named: Samuel N., Nelson Grove,
William Henry and Azariah J. They all married and several
are buried in Greene County. Their last daughter, Virginia B. Adams married Joseph D. Hepford and is buried in the Woodland Cemetery in Xenia, Ohio.
My William and Amelia Kirkpatrick followed them to Greene
County between 1850-1860 from Brown County so I do not know
if Samuel had "family" living there and that is why he moved there or if he was just looking for job opportunities. All the boys fought for the North in the Civil War, including Amelia's husband, William. None lost
their lives. My family tradition says that the father, Samuel, was very sympathetic to the South because he was
born in Virginia.

Samuel died October 14, 1871
Nancy Ann Adams, his wife, died Jan. 19, 1882.
