After a visit to the Harrison County courthouse in Cadiz, OH I know a bit more about Finley, but still not who his parents were. In the Death Records (Vol. 1, 1867-1908, p. 254) he died on August 21, 1898 at a recorded age of 39 years, 7 months, 2 days. If accurate, that would mean he was born in January, 1859. At the time of his death he worked as a miner and lived at Tappan, OH in Franklin Township. In the Marriage Records (Book F, 1875-1883, p. 296) he married Mahala BARR on September 5, 1880. While Finley was said to be over age 21, Mahala was 18 and was signed for by her father, John BARR. Many thanks to the local OGS chapter for guiding me to these records. Can anyone identify the proper CRUMRINE line?
