I'm just starting to research this family again -- it is a major brick wall. There also seems to be several DEVAULT families in the OH area (and we all know everyone names their kids the same name.)
Allegedly I descend from George W. DEVAULT/DEWALT b ca 1772 and wife Elizabeth EMERY, who were living in Harrison Co, OH in the early 1800s. I am trying to confirm he had a son named Nathaniel, b 1806, but as yet have been unable to do so. Of course, if someone else has a son named Nathaniel b 1806 I would certainly be interested in that family. Some sources (ie death certificate) indicate Nathaniel was b in PA.
Allegedly there was another son named Jacob, who would have been Nathaniel's brother. I assume there would have been a few (many?) more kids. Finally, the family supposedly immigrated about 1803 from the Black Forest region of France to escape religious persecution because they were Quakers. Can anyone confirm/deny any of the above?
As for Nathaniel, I have extensive information on his descendants that I would be happy to share. Below are the names of his children and their spouses -- if there is any incorrect info listed, please let me know.
