Hi,

Your query stated you found several Stories(Story) in Harrison County in the 1900 census. Have you checked birth birth and death records of parents, grandparents or great grandparent. Records for Ohio began in 1867. The Ohio Historical Society has some indexes on line at their web site. The original records have mostly been microfilmed and will soon be available on line as images.

A principle that has proven useful for many is to start from the known(i.e.yourself) and work backwards in time. So, who were your parents, when were they born, where were they born, etc.

You may wish to consult your local library for some books on family history research. Many libraries have "The Source" which has a chapter on 20th century research.
