Tamera,
The Samantha Methodist Cemetery is still used for burials.
According to notes from "Cemetery Inscriptions of Highland County, Ohio" by McBride, Thomas Denney conveyed "Denney Cemetery" to the M.E. Church of Samantha in 1901. This was about the time my wife's great-grandfather purchased Mr. Denney's farm. He is buried there as well as some of my own ancestors.
A Robert Denney (1809-18582) is among the oldest burials there. This book usually contains the inscriptions for those who were born before 1850 or died before 1900 so I doubt that the burial in 1923 is in it. There is no longer a Samantha M.E. church. The church that was built there in 1862 was razed in the 1950's.

Steve
