Thank you Evelyn for your reply. The information about the J.P. being from Fairfield twp. is very helpful. Since my post we were able to spend a few hours in Fayette & Highland Co. while on vacation. Andrew J. Benigar (Binegar) was from Fayette Co. and have located his parents buried in Green twp. at the White Oak Grove Cemetery. Also at the same cemetery we found Andrew J. & Sarah's son and his wife. They were buried in what looked like a family plot but no sign of markers of A. J. & Sarah.

We also checked Pleasant Hill Cemetery with no luck. We had planned to check the Worthington Cemetery at East Monroe but found records in Fayette Co. that said most graves had been removed from that Cemetery and did not list any Benigar there. We believe that Sarah Smith may have lived in Madison Twp. near East Monroe. As we have unconfirmed info that her father John Smith died Oct. 4, 1889 at East Monroe. We did find graves at Pleasant Hill for a James Smith family which looked liked they had been moved into a real small area with many graves together. The John & Ellen Smith I found on the 1850 census in Madison twp. had daughter Sarah and a son James. And James birth date on the grave matched the census birth date. Would you have any more info on the Worthington Cemetery and graves that might have been moved.

Also would you have any information on grave transcription for the Fairfield Cemetery south of Leesburg. I am not sure if this cemetery was listed in the Highland Co. info we looked up in Fayette Co. at Washington Court House. We had very little time for research and walking the cemeteries. We passed Fairfield Cemetery but didn't have time to stop and look.

We did enjoy our quick trip to Fayette & Highland Co. but still a little sad we didn't find the missing graves. Would appreciate any other information you or other reads might have.

Thanks again,
Luella Smalygo
