The Chariton Leader, Chariton, Iowa Thursday, November 28, 1907 MRS. GEO. HASS who has been in a feeble state of health for a long time, passed away at her home in this city, Nov. 21, 1907. MRS. HASS' maiden name was BARBARA WEIMER. She was born in Holmes County, Ohio, April 6, 1840. She had reached the good age of 67 years, 7 months and 15 days. She was united in marriage to GEORGE HASS at Wooster, Ohio, Dec. 25, 1868. They moved to Worth County, Missouri, in March of 1869, and lived there until October, 1893, when they moved to Mt. Ayr. To them five children were born and they are all living: ALBERT R., at Tingley; CHARLES, at Chariton; MRS. L W. LAUGHLIN; CURTIS and EVA, at Mt. Ayr. MRS. HASS was brought up in the German Reformed Church and was for years devoted to the mother church and its principals and her profession. After coming to Mt. Ayr, she united with the Presbyterian Church and remained a member of that communion until death. The funeral was held from the family home in Mt. Ayr, on Saturday. MRS. HASS was noted as a devoted wife and mother, and as a modest, gentle Christian. She has chosen a good part and has passed to her reward. -- MT.
